Lefty is a heavyset man in his 50s with a rugged, larger-than-life appearance. His long, dark gray hair and matching wild beard give him a slightly unkempt look, but his ever-present tinted eyeglasses and collection of silver jewelry add an air of personal flair. He prefers his leather vest over his jacket, proudly displaying his patch and a collection of pins that tell the story of his years in the club. His preferred ride is a custom Harley Davidson Fat Boy Softail, which he keeps in immaculate condition.

Though Lefty's build and demeanor might suggest a simple brute, he's far more observant and persuasive than people give him credit for. His heavy drinking is so well-managed that most people have no idea how much alcohol fuels his day. Lefty's voice carries a deep Florida drawl, and his rough exterior is tempered by a sharp wit and surprisingly affable nature - until someone crosses him or Bear.

History

Dan Barkley was born into the Outlaws MC, the son of a founding member of the San Augustin chapter. His mother,

a fiercely independent woman, tried to shield him from the Outlaws' world, but it was a losing battle. Dan idolized his father and uncle, viewing their camaraderie and the unbreakable bonds of the club as the pinnacle of belonging. By the time he was a teenager, Dan was running errands for the club, and by his early 20s, he was patched in as a full member.

Though he spent most of his life as a loyal Outlaw, Lefty always had a curiosity about the stranger side of life. He would hear whispers about the supernatural from old-timers and took an interest in modern folklore, eventually leading to a case study of the occult. Most club members chalked it up to eccentricity, but Lefty's fascination deepened over the years, especially after an encounter with what he would later learn was a vampire.

When Bear arrived in San Augustin, Lefty recognized him as more than just another Nomad passing through. Bear's aura of authority and hints of otherworldly strength piqued Lefty's interest. He put the pieces together quickly - Bear was soemthing beyond human. Seeing the opportunity of a lifetime, Lefty set about making himself indispensable, serving as Bear's enforcer, confidant, and eager student.

Over time, Lefty has ingratiated himself with other Kindred in Bear's orbit, including fellow Brujah River Daye, and Eddie Ducaigne, as well as "that ugly little bastard looks like a fish". He's cultivated a reputation as someone who can get things done, whether it's intimidation, laying a smackdown, or navigating the murky waters of San Augustin's criminal networks. While Lefty enjoys the respect he's earned, his ultimate ambition is clear: to be Embraced and join the ranks of the Kindred. Until that night, he remains Bear's most loyal ghoul.

Personality

Lefty is loyal to a fault, both to Bear and the Outlaws. He thrives on camaraderie and has an easy way with people, making him a naturally persuasive talker. His fascination with the supernatural has only deepened since meeting an actual vampire, and he often peppers his gruff conversations with surprisingly detailed observation about Kindred society and lore. Despite his confidence, Lefty carries a touch of insecurity about his human limitations, fueling his drive to be embraced.

While his ambition to join the Kindred is his driving force, Lefty is also a man who enjoys life's simpler pleasures. He has a bawdy sense of humor, a taste for strong whiskey, and a tendency to flirt shamelessly with anyone who catches his eye.
